Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. She also sings. Sara Ramirez was brought up with her American mother. She faced a lot racial taunts, which led her to feel unwelcome. As she entered the 9th grade she began to feel more confident when she was applauded by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but also changed the direction of her career. She attended the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In the year 23 she started her professional career, making her debut on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as critical praise. Later in the same year she appeared on the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. The actress is also a renowned performer and has released an extended play. She also works as a LGBT activist.
