Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her first appearances on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her professional career working alongside famous directors and actors both in film and on television. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who created Hamilton directed the show. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over a century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Additional Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance she received the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is from the city of Denver native who now divides his time in Los Angeles.
